# Donor Privacy

When you make a donation to a project on Ma Earth, your name, email address, and donation amount are shared with the organization you're supporting. This is standard practice; this information is available to the recipient organization or their host partner through Stripe, as well as through their Ma Earth dashboard.

**Can I make an anonymous donation?**

Yes, you can choose to make your donation anonymous, which means your name won't be visible to the public. However, anonymous donations are still visible to the organization and any host partner involved. **Will I receive ongoing communications from the projects I support?**

You can choose to opt in or out of project updates sent through Ma Earth. Update your preferences through the settings tab of your Ma Earth dashboard.

When you donate, you will also receive emails from Ma Earth related to your donation, as well as a [donation receipt](/resources-for-donors/questions-about-donations/donation-receipts.md) from Stripe. If you'd like to hear more from the organization going forward, you can opt in to their communications; this is handled directly between you and the project.
