Host Partner Guide
What does it mean to be a host partner on Ma Earth?
About Ma Earth
Ma Earth is a charitable Swiss organization addressing the USD $1 trillion annual funding gap for nature. Through grants, educational content, and an online funding platform we connect donors, philanthropic funders, impact evaluators, and land-based nature projects worldwide.
We run funding rounds where pre-selected projects raise funds through our collective funding model.

What is a host partner?
A host partner is an established nonprofit organization that receives and manages funds for projects that either:
Don't have formal nonprofit or equivalent status, or
Operate in countries not supported by our payment infrastructure (currently limited to Stripe-supported countries)
A host partner carries certain responsibilities, including:
Receiving donations for the project
Disbursing funds to the organization running the project and ensuring they're used for stated purposes
Providing financial oversight and reporting (often minimal for small projects)
Sometimes offering additional support like insurance, legal guidance, or training
Host partners on Ma Earth
On Ma Earth, host partners receive and administer funding streams for projects:
Crowdfunding contributions
Typically $100–$3,000 USD total per project per round
Small donations from crowd donors collected through the platform
Transferred to host partner via Stripe during the funding round (as donations come in)
Matching grants
Typically $2,000–$15,000 per project
Matching grants from Ma Earth Foundation
Transferred to host partner within four weeks after the round closes
Crowdfunding donations are transferred automatically via Stripe. Matching funds are transferred via an internal Stripe transfer to the host partner’s Stripe account, or via bank transfer to the host partner’s bank account when an internal transfer is not possible. Once all funds (crowdfunding + matching) are received, the host partner disburses them to the project.
Note: Ma Earth conducts project selection and initial due diligence; the host partner is responsible for local compliance (including KYC/AML) and financial administration within their jurisdiction.

We are looking for host partners who can move quickly and flexibly as we run the first funding rounds and learn together. Projects without nonprofit status or Stripe access must have a confirmed host partner before the round launches, making timely agreement signing essential.
We're looking for host partners who bring:
Established nonprofit status with experience managing funds for nonprofits or community groups
Geographic expertise in regions where projects operate
Quick turnaround on agreements and fund disbursement
Commitment to supporting grassroots regenerative work
